Clinical supervision is a one-on-one supervision session to help develop and refine therapeutic skills by discussing specific cases, techniques, interventions and ethical guidelines.
I provide emotional support to people who may encounter difficult or traumatic situations in their work, including processing emotional reactions to client cases to prevent burnout and address self-care.
Clinical supervision is also suitable for therapists who are either starting out in their field or are fully established. Using an integrative and holistic approach to building up your practice, debriefing client work and professional and personal growth.

What is Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counselling is classified as "talk therapy", which is an opportunity to talk openly about difficulties, problems and feelings that are present. Counselling normally consists of exploring emotions, mental state, physical, social and spiritual problems. Counselling can help one focus on goals, strengths, values, including helping you understand and possibly change behaviours and thought patterns that no longer serve you. Counselling can provide you with a sense of direction, a greater ability to achieve goals and clarification.

Psychotherapy is a collection of therapy techniques, designed to help you holistically. It is an engagement that focuses on the mental, emotional, physical, relational and spiritual aspects of a person. In psychotherapy the therapist and client work together to understanding the conscious and unconscious aspects of ones present lived experience. Psychotherapy supports processes of change allowing a person to understand patterns of discomfort, dissatisfaction, or suffering. Psychotherapy can be used as integrative therapeutic techniques, these include cognitive behavioural, expressive, narrative, mindfulness approaches and psychodynamic.
Counselling and Psychotherapy can be interchangeable and currently available via Telehealth and in-person.

Professional Clinical Supervision

My approach to clinical supervision is integrative, combining elements of different theoretical orientations. I am flexible and adaptable and help the supervisee self-reflect and have more awareness of themselves. by enhancing a supervisee's professional competence to promote ethical practice and to improve client outcomes.

Over the past several years, I have developed a passion for clinical supervision and workforce development. I have provided supervision to emerging and experienced practitioners, offering guidance on ethical practice, case consultations, reviewing clinical work, enhancing therapeutic skills, professional growth and ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards. In addition to guided clinical work and therapeutic techniques I offer regular evaluation and constructive feedback to help build competence and confidence. I ensure I support people develop professional identity, encouraging reflection on values, theoretical orientation and long-term goals.

I help supervisees/workers manage complex client situations, by maintaining appropriate boundaries and prevention of burnout. I foster a safe and constructive learning environment that promotes growth, accountability and high standards of care.

I model professionalism and promote self-awareness by helping clients explore emotional responses and potential biases. Creating a supportive yet accountable environment that fosters both personal and professional development.

For front line workers such as case managers, support workers, and crisis responders, I provide essential guidance, support and accountability. In these high-demand roles  front line workers face emotional intense situations, including complex client needs and ethical dilemmas, therefore, making regular supervision is critical for maintaining effectiveness and wellbeing. I offer a structured space to process challenging experiences, review decision making, and ensure services are delivered safely and ethically.

I also help front-line workers staff strengthen their skills, manage stress and maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Through reflective dialogue and practical support clinical supervision enhances the quality of care provided to clients while promoting the resilience, confidence and professional growth of the workers themselves.

Clinical supervisor is delivered in-person or via Telehealth, to see if I am the right fit for you, give me a call. Once we find out we can work together I will send you a contract to start working together.

Grief and Loss
Many individuals experience grief and loss in their lives. This can be due to death of a loved one or a pet, loss of a job, relationship or home. People with disabilities can lose a sense of belonging, independence and dignity. Grief can be debilitating, emotionally overwhelming and difficult to move through and forward.
If you are experiencing grief or loss or feel hopeless, then talking to a therapist may help deal with some of the emotional pain and find some meaning again.
Some therapies used for grief are usually person centred as we all experience grief very different. Therapies such as expressive therapies, rituals, working through the pain and having a better understanding of our individual grief is beneficial.

Self Harm and Suicide Ideation
Sometimes life can be really tough, especially when you feel as though no one is listening, supporting you or feeling alone. If you are thinking about or planning suicide, there is much support and therapy is one of them.
Therapy can help you identify your thoughts and behaviours, offer you and plan other ways to relieve distress and use coping strategies that do not involve self-injury.
